While heading to my gate in the Phoenix International Airport I saw the Cartel Coffee Lab out of the corner of my eye. At first I read the word lab, and thought hmm that sounds interesting. Then my eyes diverted from the name to the large collection of growlers sitting on a shelf.. and knew this could only mean one thing at a coffee place. Cold Brew!
Low and behold Nitrogen enforced cold brew straight from the tap. Wait a minute... is that pour-over coffee, and is that only a few things on the menu? Where am I?? For a brief moment I thought I had exited the airport. Is this for real has Phoenix introduced coffee heaven into their airport? I think so.
The cold brew was fantastic by far one of the best I have had in all of the country. It appears that Cartel is actually from Tempe AZ where they have a roastery and coffee house. I will be hitting that up for sure on my next trip to AZ.
Who knew after traveling the entire state of Arizona in the blistering heat, and looking for Cold Brew that I would find it in the airport on my way out of the state. Classy Arizona Classy!
