  • I would like to give them 0 stars. After my experience I would never ever in a million years use a yellow cab. Here are the highlights for the people that don't want to read the entire story, which you'll find below: - Horrible driver that gave us whiplash - Dangerous driver that watched TV while driving! - Unprofessional driver that thought it was socially acceptable to smoke a "vape" while driving us - The organization is inept as my repeated calls to complain were sent through an outdated service that didn't even have a dedicated location to log these complaints (I received one call back that told me to call the general number - good heavens! This took place during Carnegie Mellon's graduation on Saturday morning May 14 around 10a. Upon the two of us entering the car (me and my girlfriend - the soon to be graduate), the first thing we noticed was the strong smell of smoke. The driver did not say two words to us. We informed him of the location to which he nodded that he knew the place. Now, a description of the wind shield is necessary. From the driver's point of view, to the bottom left of his view there was a GPS device, and to the right (seemingly obstructing his view of the middle of the windshield was a big smartphone that he was watching a TV show. As the ride progressed and the whiplash continued I looked up to see that he was smoking with one hand and the other hand on the wheel, while he caught glimpses of his show! - while the car was moving!!! There are not enough exclamation points to add the emphasis on this last point. This takes distracted driving to a whole new level. I am going to post a video that captures the scene detailed above. I gave him nothing for a tip and when he was about to complain I think the small shred of common sense reared its ugly head and stopped him before I gave him the tip of thinking of another line of work. While I am not aware of whether this driver was an employee or an independent contractor, if anyone is ever hurt in a yellow cab and is looking to sue for negligent hiring practices or to simply get at the big pockets of yellow cab, feel free to use this as a reference, along with the photograph. This was absolutely abhorrent.
