| - Maybe it's because I made a resolution to cut back on eating out so much in 2018 and this was my first meal out since the beginning of the year, but more likely it's because the flavors were outstanding and the ambiance was fun -- whatever the reason, I am a big fan.
We picked this spot because we had some out of town guests that wanted some authentic Mexican food. As I was trying to decide where to go, my boyfriend said - it doesn't really matter where we go, food will all be the same. At the end of the evening, he agreed that that he was wrong.
This not your typical Mexican restaurant. They have many of the 'typical' Mexican dishes on the menu - tacos, enchiladas, fajitas, but the composition and flavor combinations are not typical. Instead of chips and salsa, they brought bread and olive tapenade. Instead of mexican rice and beans, our dishes came with side of roasted vegetables and mashed potatoes.
We went on a Saturday night with a party of 5 at 7pm. There was a 30-45 minute wait. We drank and had appetizers at the bar so it went by quickly. The service was top notch and the live music created a fun atmosphere. The music is loud, so maybe not the most ideal spot if you're trying to have an intimate conversation. Entrees between $16-$30.
