oh you hipsters (I say it with endearment). They even mumbled and gave no eye contact to me.. hehe [I know, I do the same]...
Anyways, Alex and Renato repaired my Trek a few weeks ago. When I brought it, I had trouble shifting after a small wipeout and I was pretty sure my dérailleur needed to be replaced. They gave a rough estimate and said they'd replace another part and try to fix my dérailleur, but that the dérailleur may need to be replaced, and they would let me know within 3 days for the confirmed cost. They didn't call by the 3rd day, but I called them and left a message; they called back within minutes and explained the dérailleur was beyond repair and would take a couple additional days to order the part, no problem.
In the end, it worked out fine. They were upfront about possible scenarios and costs. The store has a decent selection [they had 4 pannier racks of different styles and prices, mine was $14] and is very organized and clean. My innertube ($5) was a buck or 2 more than Fredrick's but it's worth it for the extended hours [open until 9pm most days, thankfully!]
They answered any questions that I've had and were flexible with my schedule for the repair. They've also been great supporters of the growing bicycling scene with hosting a free keg after Critical Mass and donating prizes to several bicycling events.
I'll continue to stop there when I need a few parts or a repair that's beyond my scope. It's a great addition to Ohio City and the growing Cleveland bicycling community.
