| - Outstanding! This beautifully restored building is now a first class hotel with wonderful service. The Beaux-Arts style building, which used to be the Cleveland Board of Education building is fantastic. The grand lobby includes marble columns, architectural features, and two beautifully preserved murals. The main floor includes a bar called (and I love this) the Teachers Lounge. They have restored the original light fixtures and other features, and created a wonderful hotel. The guest rooms have high ceilings, comfortable beds, and classy modern decor. This is really a cool place. Our room had a view of the Mall, great public art in the park (The Mall), and Lake Erie.
Staying at the Drury Plaza includes a great hot breakfast, and also substantial evening snacks and a couple of free beverages, as well. The snacks served as our dinner, as we needed to get to Playhouse Square for a show. There is a nice, but small fitness room, as well as a pool & spa downstairs.
The entire staff was friendly, courteous, and helpful. Enough so that I didn't even grumble about having to valet park my car for $24. Really, the staff made the difference, and are the real reason I hope to return. They were super nice about helping us celebrate our anniversary during our stay, and made us feel comfortable and welcome.
Yep. This is outstanding.
