Probably the most disappointing, over priced high tea I have experienced. For $40 plus tax and tip, I received a pot of tea, two scones, 2 sweets (that tasted stale) and 4 pieces of almost cold deep fried avocado and artichoke and two small pieces of rice roll. No sandwiches. This is the Windsor Arms' gluten free high tea solution. As a Celiac, I was assured that utmost care to avoid cross-contamination was taken, however, I was still in the restaurant when I had to excuse myself from my dining partner to be sick. And will now pay for days with fatigue, migraine and brain fog. (Thank you for this)
The service is terribly slow. We were seated long before two other tables who were served a good ten minutes before we were. I was told it was due to the preparations being taken but since the deep fried items were almost cold, I'm inclined to call them on this claim.
Avoid and head to the Shangrila or King Edward where they actually take their high tea seriously. And I have never had to make a mad rush to be sick within minutes of eating their gluten free tea service either or been impacted by cross-contamination. My friend was also less than impressed with her regular offering.
