I'm wavering between 3 and 4 stars. We bought a family membership to the Ecomuseum when the kids were young. In essence, it is a small wooded area that houses some local wildlife indigenous to the area, and focuses on small-scale conservation and research. It's a lovely area to walk around, but it is not a "zoo" and the animals are not (nor are they supposed to be) exotic or exciting.
I can see how this place might be a bit boring to older children as there aren't any interactive exhibits or hands-on activities offered. However, as an outing for toddlers and preschoolers, it's not bad. There is a lunchroom where families can go to eat their packed meals. There are no food options on site, aside from a couple of vending machines. Also, I wish there was an elevator to go to the lower level to see the small animals and turtles/fish/amphibians...visiting that section with a stroller was somewhat difficult.
Altogether, as a gentle way to introduce local biology to young kids, I think the Ecomuseum does its job.
