| - We stayed here earlier this year but I am just now getting around to review it. I have stayed here two other times before, and those stays were adequate.
First off, I did not have any problem with customer service and everyone I encountered seemed friendly enough, especially the security.
The price was great, and if you plan on spending most of your time downtown, I think this is a good choice.
The area isn't too good, and there is a greyhound station literally right next to the hotel, but I did not feel unsafe here.
The room itself is outdated, which I expected, but it did seem like they had updated furniture since the last time I was there, which is nice.
The bathroom was ridiculously tiny, to the point where if you were using the toilet, you could barely fit in there with the door closed.
Our room seemed clean, but after further inspection we found dried blood on the curtains, deep scratches on the doors, and sticky counters. I'm sure had we complained they would have given us a different room or cleaned it, but we were honestly too tired and the bed was clean so we just settled for it.
The only other issue I had was the parking garage. You could only get there by taking one ridiculously slow elevator from inside the hotel. All of their elevators seem like they are on their last leg, but this one really struggles and I was pretty worried we were going to get stuck the few times I had to go in there.
One thing to note, we actually had to leave Vegas early. I turned in our card keys and just explained that we were having to leave early and thanked them. I was quite surprised to see that they actually refunded the resort fees for our entire stay. That was very generous of them and I was not expecting that little gesture at all.
Overall, this place is fine. I personally would probably prefer somewhere a little newer, but if you are trying to do Vegas cheap, I think the Plaza would work well for you. Some other reviews seem to state otherwise, but I appreciated that they went out of their way to refund the fees for us, and they were all very nice when we were there.
