I haven't been to Bachi Burger in years, basically since it became hip and everyone wrote articles about it and the masses descended.
The burgers I remember as being good but I make burgers at home so really don't go to burger joints in general. I actually hadn't planned to go but the Izakaya in the same shopping center that was my plan turned out to be closed. So I decided to go to Shoku Ramen only to discover it is now combined with Bachi. Worked for me, there was a French fry dish I'd heard a lot about and I figured it would make an interesting combo with a bowl of Ramen.
I ordered the Tonkatsu Shio, which came out quickly and was very good. I actually prefer it to Monta's, even if the style (which is the same as Monta and everybody frikking else which is annoying) isn't the kind I prefer. Sadly they did not have the oxtail fries on the menu or anything that looked like it so that was a miss. Although, probably for the best because the Ramen filled me up.
I also ordered the Portuguese donuts, which do not come with a filling, but do come with ice cream. Both ice cream and donuts were good but not anything spectacular.
The place was very busy but the staff were responsive and friendly and somehow even managed to sneak in a staff photo while taking care of everything.
All in all, given how close it is for me, I might have to put it back on my radar as a place to go, especially since Shuseki closed taking with it the style of ramen I like.
