| - If I could give negative stars, I would. Do not let the nice décor/ location of the office deceive you. Extortion and intimidation is what comes to mind when I think about Affiliated Dermatology. I went to Affiliated for a mole check. I had several moles removed, and after two and a half weeks I got a phone call from a nurse who told me over the phone that I had melanoma. On this phone call she told me that they recommend removing more tissue with a procedure called slow MOHs. She told me that, unfortunately, my insurance would only cover a general excision and if I wanted slow MOHs I would need to use their in-house lab, which would be out-of-pocket. I would find out later, after my 5 slow MOHs surgeries, that this was a lie. My insurance did cover a slow MOHs lab, and furthermore, Affiliated was in violation of their agreement with the insurance company by telling us that our insurance didn't cover a slow MOHs lab. When we called to ask about this, and some other charges, not only were they very rude, but demanded payment in full before they would see me for my next appointment. Quite a jump from our original agreement of $100/ month. As if all of this isn't bad enough, both of my incisions became infected, and I have a hideous scar that is a constant reminder of my horrible experience at Affiliated.
