I'm shocked that anybody can tolerate this place -- the noise on the Fremont St side of the hotel is completely oppressive, and despite asking for a relatively quiet room at check-in, I'm unsuccessfully trying to sleep in a room with windows that are rattling from the lower registers of the music being blasted below. Sleep seems so hard to come by here.
On my first night here, shortly after the music ended, I was treated to hearing a screaming match in the room next door, complete with a visit from the police. Then there were the dudebros who held a riveting and exceptionally loud impromptu debate in the hallway about whether one sports team was better than another sports team -- a meeting of the minds for the ages, for sure. Just like the athletes they were discussing, they really gave it 110%. All that aside, the rooms themselves are mostly clean and comfortable enough, though the quieter room I was moved to smelled strongly of smoke despite being a nonsmoking room. Yes, this is Vegas -- but I've stayed in many places that are quieter and much more tolerable for the same price.
