The left and right hand have completely different policies!!!! It seems that the Home Office is on a completely different page from all the donation centers. So after making a few donations (whole blood & platelets) and attempting to reschedule a platelets donation to the following day I have spoken & texted with a 3 separate individuals and received 3 different answers as if I can or why I can't. I made the appointment in their center the day I donated whole blood. 72 hours is what I was told. So how and why is this such a nightmare to move my appointment 1 day later!!!!! Yes it's less than 7 days. BUT!!!! 2 in the center said their company policy is 72 hours. Then speaking with someone local on the phone confirmed that their policy is 72 hours but there was an issue that the system wouldn't allow less than 7 days. Not understanding why the computer would be different that the company policy she took it upon herself to check with her manager. Manager agreed and so she called me back and was able to schedule me. Then someone in a far away office in another state who I had only texted with goes and over rides and canceled my appointment without even speaking to me. I called back the number left I was again given a different answer by someone new. No their policy is 7 days not 72 hours. Her explanation started with completely irrelevant information. So.... After putting up with the time consuming issues with their most recent system 'upgrade' I have canceled all my upcoming (should have been 3) appointments and will find another company for any future donations too.
I'm extremely confused and past frustrated! Honestly I'm really more sad than pissed as I felt I was doing a really good thing by donating platelets. Especially since I haven't found a center close to my home.
The center definitely deserves a 5 star review. The company I give a 2nd star as I believe they are doing a good thing and sending donations collected out for medical emergencies. Many places (those that pay usually) use donations for medical research and not life saving donations to hospitals or ERs.
