| - The first time I came here for a date night. The service was great, the entrees (Swordfish chop was somewhat bland and salmon was very flavorful) where decent and the desserts amazing (Angel food Grilled Cheese and the Chocolate Guava Roll). My first experience was 4 out of 5 stars; however, the second time was a 2 out of 5 stars.
So my second time here was for a birthday party (8 guests total). Upon arrival, for a 7:30 reservation, we had to wait in the lounge as they didn't have s table (there were a great deal that said reserved) which makes no sense if we had a confirmed reservation. So we had a few drinks and then they sat us. Our server was great; however, lack of communication from the kitchen made the night frustrating. Several of us ordered a Chilean Sea Bass; however, 30-45 minutes after ordering we are told that they were out. They were also out of the lobster mac and cheese that had been ordered. We decide on another entree, but guess what, they were out. We finally found something that they had (I got the yellow fin tuna) and then continued on with our conversations. So some members of our group decided to order more wine, but guess what, they were out of the wine they wanted. I wanted dessert as did my girlfriend; however, they were out of the chocolate guava roll (the only dessert my girlfriend could eat). It is a good thing that we had brought an ice cream cake! Oh but they managed to botch that up slightly because the hostess staff member who originally took it back to the kitchen had placed it in the dairy cooler! So instead we had something between a piece of cake and a milkshake for dessert. They even ran out of bags to put leftovers in! Long story short, they were unable to provide 16 items that we requested. I understand that they could be running low on items by Sunday night, but they could have informed us in a reasonable and timely fashion (improve the communication between the wait staff and the kitchen). The wait staff was great and we actually were able to joke with them about being out of everything. My biggest issue is that we didn't get anything comped, and with all the issues from the kitchen, I would have expected the chief to come out and personally apologize.
I am actually going back this Saturday to try their Sakari portion of the restaurant. I hope it is smooth sailing or it may be the last time I dine here.
