I took my family that was visiting from out of town to the Barrymore tonight. They wanted to go to a place that would remind them of what Vegas is supposed to be. Upon entering they were instantly happy. It is an intimate space with class and an old school vibe. While they were reviewing the menu they were happy to see a nice offering without feeling like they were being gouged. Service from Luis and Karla was attentive and personable without being intrusive. My father in law is not a drinker and has extreme dietary restrictions, they went above and beyond for him.
The personal touches are what made the experience worth writing about. It means a lot when the GM, Kirk, was on the floor touching base with all the guests in the venue. Corey, the bartender, had me try one of the new cocktails that will be featured on the new cocktail menu. It was called the "Golden Globe". It was a play on the dark and stormy but it was fresh and alive.
I find that when you go out there is always one person in the party that wishes they had ordered something else, but that was not the case at the Barrymore. I tip my hat to a venue that can pull that off.
I am happy in a city that has adopted a culture of not caring about the guest that there are places like the Barrymore. You will be seeing a lot of me for a long time to come!!!!
