| - Food Quality & Price: Sweet, sweet, sweet! I am a fan of sweet things but I said I hit my "diabetes limit" during this meal. Not including the sugar you may add to your tea (each person gets an entire pot to themselves - refillable), you start the bottom and eat your way up the three-tiered tray.
I ordered the Earl Grey with Blue Leaves and really loved it! Quiche was delectable, shame there wasn't more than one piece per person. The scones (when warm) are heavenly but covered in powdered sugar. The middle tier held savoury bites (all if which I found were only so-so, the sandwich slices were disappointing) Overall, the "slider"-type bites were incredibly dry. On the top tier are petit fours (one macaroon you may have to fight your friend for). Again, plenty of chocolate/sugar. To finish off the meal, we received a fruit sorbet - intended to be healthy, I suppose, but just entirely too sweet. The experience was $50 a head (we purchased a Groupon 2-for-1). Worth it to try once, but not a repeat act for such an expense.
Facility: Decor is incredible, everything is clean. The atmosphere is quiet (you need to speak softly or everyone else can hear you). You are seated about two feet away from another table. We went for Twilight Tea (6pm mid-March) and there was still plenty of daylight. Washrooms are very far away, on a completely different floor). The Windsor Arms is located off Bloor St.
Parking - When you go south on St. Thomas (turn right after Windsor Arms until you get to the underground garage). The cost is $11.50 flat rate. Valet parking is also available.
Service: Good service. Our waiter explained everything to us but could have been more attentive with topping up our pots and bringing more milk (I have received more attentive service at Chinese restaurants).
Overall: A great one time experience that was everything I anticipated it would be. Likely would not return because of the price (even for $25 a person) but would encourage anyone to try it at least once (via Groupon). Unlike other reviewers, I am usually expecting to be treated poorly and discriminated against but did not feel it in this case. Actually, there were several others using Groupons when we were there. Also surprisingly, there were many men who enjoyed tea time while we were there. The majority of people dressed elegantly casual (romantic but not cocktail attire) but I did see one person in jeans.
