After dropping $1500 at Masa in NYC, this was a freaking bargain (plus you get to take pics here). Freshness and quality of the the food was up to Masa's standards. I did not have a bad piece of sushi or entree here.
We had:
(2) Otoro nigiri*
(2) Hamachi nigiri
(2) Kani nigiri
(2) sake nigiri
(1) kurumutsu nigiri
spicy tuna roll
hamachi kama*
wagyu skewers*
wagyu sukiyaki*
miso butterfish
hot soba tempura
miso creme brûlée*
buckwheat ice cream
*my favorites where the sukiyaki, hamachi kama and wagyu skewers
Service was spot on, with our server being informative as well as making great suggestions.
Bill came out to about $350 without tax and tip. This would be comparable to your nobu, katsuya, or morimoto. If i had a choice between the four, Masa's restaurants would be my choice.
