  • Jacksons car wash, the north Scottsdale store & the Phoenix store, have been one of the better car washes I have committed to coming back to. However yesterday 3/27/17 around 5pm, has me wondering. I felt a bit verbally battered by one of the managers in charge of making sure the cleaning acceptable/where you pick up the car. Sadly, he did this in front of my son, an eight-year-old. The verbal exchange could have been eliminated had communication occurred at the very beginning. I found my pitchfork and rake jammed between my seats - causing scratches on my seats by the way in which they were shoved into my backseat (along with some other items). Had I been asked to remove these items from the bed of my truck and place them nicely inside my own truck, that would've been done immediately. However no one said anything to me. So when I went to pick up my truck, I saw the rake, pitchfork, Chair and a few other things shoved between the seats and wedged tightly there. I had to carefully take them out and put them back into the bed of the truck. (A sidenote - the backseat was completely dusty and dirty and there was no attempt to clean it or to look at the scratch marks). I did mention to this gentleman that the tools were jammed into my backseat and I thought that there were some scratches due to this. He actually gave no indication that he cared one bit about my leather and the possibility of damage to my vehicle - all he said was "I will have to tell my guys next time to place them on the seat" and then said "are these your rakes?" I said yes. He said "were they in the back of the truck?" I said they were when I arrived here first but I just found them in my backseat shoved inside, potentially damaging my seat. He said "we have a machine that's over hundreds of thousands of dollars"... I looked at him blankly not knowing what the heck he was talking about wondering why he didn't give a damn that the backseat was scratched. He said "we can't have things in the back or it will damage that machine". And I said "that would definitely suck for you", which he nearly shouted "hey lady you don't have to get sarcastic with me and if that's how it is then ...", he raised his hands and backed away from me. I immediately said "look I'm not trying to be sarcastic or a bitch, I am trying to answer sympathetically, I had no idea..." He would not let me respond, he did not look at the damage to my backseat, and he did not see that the backseat was filthy for putting in those items. Again, had open communication been clear I would've gladly moved those items into my backseat if they would've put it back and cleaned the seat. Now I don't want to go back - I don't want to be ignored, or my truck re-damaged intentionally if he truly believes I was being sarcastic or a bitch - although I was the one that apologized for having my car damaged and for obviously damaging this man's psyche - and I do not want to have to deal with this guy that has no business being around customers. And I am horrified that any exchange was done in front of an eight-year-old. He was so put out by me calling him out because one of his employees damaged my truck (an obvious scratch to my leather seat in the back; which he never even looked at) that he couldn't see past the fact that I meant no harm in my words regarding his precious machine that cleans cars. Again, easily fixed by communication at the starting point - or if not that at least someone who had a little bit more tact and ability to explain to customers without making them feeling verbally and physically threatened. And what was strange about all this was that in the past this guy had been nothing but pleasant, efficient - I guess repeat customers mean nothing in how they are to be treated. I was going there bi-monthly for the VIP or the works as my work is right around the corner - I won't continue, not with him there. Perhaps I will try Jackson's in North East Scottsdale though not convenient or I might just drop them all together. Pretty sad.
