| - I can walk out with a basket full of food for $30, and that's important to me because "the rent's too damn high". Now, expiration dates are more like suggestions, do you know how to make sure canned goods are good? There is so much waste in this country because people foolishly throw things out because they are past the contrived expiration date. I hit the frozen section and pile up Amy's Organic frozen meals, cheese, eggs when they have them. The fresh vegetables will need to be cooked soon, OK? but taters, onions, and carrots last a long time. If you have common sense, need to eat on a budget, and aren't a snob, you'll love it here. I go once a week, try to make it on Thursday because vets get a 10% discount. I have bought a few bad things in the last year but 'oh well' those 50 cent little debbies were crushed. waa. I'm not worried about it because I found a way to live in Phoenix without worrying about going hungry (ha ha). My pantry is stuffed, I should probably give half of it to a church.
