It is a beautiful event and idea. The real ice is awesome. Having it by the pool so some folks are in swimsuits right by the ice is such a fun Vegas thing.
Renting ice skates is double the price of other ice skating rinks. Coming in at $20 per person.
Ok, that's steep but it is what it is. Since we live so close by went several times due to the convenience and because it's beautiful.
The child and I went once and rented skates had a great time. We came back with the husband and myself and child and rented skates again, fun.
The third time I came with my child, we brought our own ice skates since we live nearby. They charge the same $20, if you bring your own skates! Ridiculous.
If they would have charged half if you bring your own skates I would have been fine with it, but instead they chose to price gouge. Obviously, even with bringing our own skates we would have bought food & beverages like we had the previous times. If they had some kind of season pass purchase available we'd have seriously considered that.
It's a shame but clearly, we will be skating at the other local ice skating venues this season and not this one.
*The disappointment continued-I had been told at the ice rink I could add points to my Stations players club card for ice skating if I went inside to the rewards desk. After I asked the rewards desk to do that, they argued with me that they don't do that for ice skating. Then I showed them on their own website that it says that points can be applied so they begrudging attempted to add the points but then claimed they could not do it because the receipts were more than 7 days old.
It's a seasonal event the receipts were more than 7 days old but not by much. I had planned to skate a lot this season so had been saving them to add the points all at once, but after we were told we would be charged the full $20 use our own skates I knew we wouldn't be back this season so I went in to add my points. However, we got no points added.
So for those of you trying to add points to your players club card do it within 7 days and be ready to show the rewards desk their own website because they don't know their own policies. I wish you better luck than we had.
