I have friends who live in Waxhaw, NC. I was looking for a destination in Charlotte for a day trip into the city, and my friend suggested the Levine Museum.
I was blown away. I knew almost nothing about the history of Charlotte, and my only knowledge of the South was what I learned in school. This is a beautiful museum with great exhibits. When I was there, they had a special exhibit detailing the plight of Charlotte's Jewish population that had survived the Holocaust. Talk about a tough topic. Everything was done to well and the details were amazing.
I highly recommend this museum, especially if you don't know a lot about the post-Civil War South.
