  • My pool motor wasn't working and I called a different major pool repair company. They sent a guy out who looked at the equipment for a minute before telling me that I needed a whole new motor and pump, and quoting almost $4000. Called We Fix Ugly Pools, they sent Brian out, and after a thorough inspection, he told me that I needed new seals. Matt came over next day, changed the seals for about $250, and I was back in business. Talk about dodging a bullet! Great, prompt service, reasonable prices, and HONEST! Hmmm... So the seals got replaced on the motor and pump. A few (4-5) days later, nothing is working. Called WFUP and they sent someone out next day. Diagnosis? Motor is fried, grass had grown into the housing and caught fire. Need a whole new motor and pump. (I've got one on the truck- $1400 or so w labor) I asked why the first guy didn't tell me about the HAZARD, "Well, we sent out a seals guy, we'll only do what you asked us to do." House could have caught on fire because I didn't ask them to tell me if everything was safe.
