| - St-Viateur Bagel was founded by Myer Lewkowicz, who learned all about bagels at the Montreal Bagel Company. This led him to open up his own bagelry back in '57. Sesame, poppy, plain, 'all dressed,' whole wheat, rosemary and sea salt, multi-grain, cinnamon and raisin, and flax bagels are offered. There is also a fridge with drinks, spreads, and yogurt. Due to the popularity of the sesame bagel, I got one, without any spread this time. It was super hot and crispy, and much better compared to the other bagelry around the corner. This bagel had a light crisp exterior, covered generously with the sesame seeds, and had slightly more of a taste. It was still more on the bland side, however, so it would have been great with a thick, saltier slab of cream cheese! Staff were friendly, and it was neat to see the staff rolling, kneading, and taking the bagels out of the big brick oven.
