I had delicious, cheap vegetarian pho. The waitress(/owner, I'd assume) confirmed that I wanted veg broth, not beef broth, which was reassuring. The pho was big, with lots of good veggies and fried tofu. My friend had beef pho, which he enjoyed much more than the variety pho he picked up for lunch last time he went. Apparently "variety" means "tripe surprise." Word to the wise.
The atmosphere was exactly what you'd expect - casual, clean, with the owner's family there enjoying their dinner (and one young girl giving an inspired yet subdued solo concert to herself in a corner of the restaurant).
Oh we didn't know this before we went, but it's BYOB.
