| - ONLY PLACE TO GO IN LAS VEGAS - Bought a fabulous pair of Brian Atwood heels on Ebay. Picked them up from the post office on my way to Las Vegas for the weekend. Tried them on for the first time while driving on the I-15. Straps are too short!! What to do?! Yelp to the rescue. Found Fred of B&L Shoe Repair and called from the road. Yes, he's open. Yes, he can help. Come on over.
Fred is the real deal. The son of an old world shoe maker, he's been working with shoes his entire life. In his younger years he had a very successful shop in Brentwood where all those beautiful, famous ladies we read about brought their outrageously expensive shoes,(including the ones with the red soles), to him for maintenance and repair. His prices were always more reasonable than anyone else, but he built his clientele upon his reputation for providing quality and service. Now that he has relocated to Las Vegas, nothing has changed. He is still absolutely committed to providing great service at a fair price.
I walked in off the street, an utter stranger, and Fred dropped everything he was doing to help me. He fixed my shoes while I waited. Total charge $20. Need I say more? Ok... his store is conveniently located to the strip near the corner of Tropicana and Eastern. If you don't have a car, take a cab; you won't regret it.
