  • Went to print a few pictures in 4x6 sizing. Things started off fine. Ramy quoted 40 cents per photo because he had to manually resize the images and lay them out on a page so he could print multiple images per sheet. Apparently, per Ramy, this price is "the lowest price for industry standard colour prints". From my recollection, I had paid 10 or 15 cents per print historically at larger print stores like Shutterfly, Walmart, or Loblaws, but I wanted to support a local business in the area, so I just went with it even though he was quoting double the price. Plus, I figured the prints would be higher quality as all the positive reviews below seem to make out. Unfortunately, the prints were of poor quality. Admittedly, these pictures were from my iPhone 5, so I was not expecting stellar quality, but definitely not the grainy pictures that I received either. I decided not to print the rest of the pictures, but like the idiot that I am, I got another sheet of the grainy pictures because I needed to include them with Christmas cards which needed to be sent out asap. This was my fault as I did not voice my dissatisfaction with the quality. I should have just told him straight up that it was not what I was expecting. I did however ask him for a discount because he only had to manually resize one image, and subsequently batch print them. He essentially refused. From there, he became a little more moody. I wasn't about to haggle over a couple dollars, so I just paid him. As I walked home, I felt kinda cheated. The fact that I had paid him double the market rate for pictures, had to wait longer, got crappier quality, along with somewhat questionable customer service was kinda annoying. I ended up calling him just to share my feedback about the quality of the pictures, and what I perceived to be poor value. I think he did make an honest effort to try to listen to my concerns, but as I explained myself he ended up cutting me off to the point where he was yelling at me. My wife could hear him yelling across the room and he wasn't even on speaker phone. He was kind enough to offer me the few dollars back, but quite frankly, I don't want to be bothered to going back and seeing him again. Regarding the poor quality, he said there's no way that could happen b/c he has the best printer in the industry, which I honestly find hard to believe b/c I've printed pictures off my older iPhone 3GS that were higher quality at the automated print machines. He said that camera phone pictures are at 72dpi, whereas for printing, they need to be 300dpi, so there would be a drop off in quality, which I agree with, but definitely not this bad. I called him because I wanted to provide feedback to him instead of doing it through the anonymous world of the internet. But the fact that I ended up getting yelled at on the phone was really unsettling. So here's my first ever Yelp review. I tried to be as objective as possible and I do recognize that I am partly accountable for how things transpired. Yes, I should have just said these pictures are poor quality and I would have been done with it. But I also did not expect to be yelled at for just trying to give some feedback. Ps. I did verify that Shutterfly and Walmart are anywhere from 10-15 cents per print.
