My wife and I went in today for brunch. The menu is awesome and extensive! From small plates to big-time and everything in between this menu has something for everyone! The service was exceptional from the moment we walked in. It was not really busy and it was nice in the dining room.
She had the eggs-benny Trio and chose crab, prociuto and Cali-veg which was beautiful and came with a nice side of baby spuds regular and purple with peppers and fresh rosemary.
I had the chicken and waffles with sausage gravy. It was masterful! Two crispy chicken breast fillets atop a corn waffle topped with 2 eggs my style (poached soft) and the works smothered in a sinfully decadent white sausage gravy with actual ground sausage. I told our server on his quality check of our meals that should by some unfortunate circumstance I am ever condemned to death, this could be a very satisfying last meal.
They also serve bottomless mimosa and 'mary's for $15 AT brunch. I was driving and opted for a nice chilly glass of blonde beer.
They had a live musician starting at noon which is a nice touch.
My wife had eaten dinner there with a group of 7 colleagues only last week and said that the food was great but the main issue, which seems to get mentioned often on Yelp is the NOISE! They need to figure out a decorative way to baffle sound in the room as when it is busy it is almost impossible to have a conversation with each other or the servers. Central Bistro Owner: Fix this and be worshiped!!!
Still one of the best brunch menus around and we didn't have to spend 45min waiting like we used to at St-Francis and it's only a few blocks further east up C-back.
mmmm deep-fried chicken and waffles and eggs!!! Food-Baby approves! Arteries? Not so much! Yum! We will be back!
