I end up here sometimes following late night drinking sessions. Easier to stay in the downtown area and only slightly more expensive then a Cab ride home (damn suburbs).
Check in has always been fairly easy, even at 3-4 am & while modestly intoxicated. Staff was friendly on each visit. I just wish they didn't lock the front doors late at night. I need to wait until someone lets me in, kind of frustrating. Your OK if you have your room key, but that assumes you checked in earlier in the day.
Location is great - close proximity to the best bar in the city. The hotel is perfect if your attending a sporting event in the city (ACC & Rogers Centre), the theatre and / or the entertainment district in general.
I was always happy with my room. Large bathrooms but shower only (large open showers). Standard rooms are bigger than average and always clean. Large flat screen TV. The beds are very comfortable - just the right level of Firmness. Pillows were just the way I like them, firm as well. Easy to get a good nights sleep.
The rooms include a desk area as well if your in town on business.
I always have a good experiences at various Hilton Garden Inns throughout North America and this location is no exception. Above average room at a good competitive price in the heart of the entertainment district in Toronto.
