SERVICE:
Attentive but the our waitress was a snob. She was lackadaisical and forgot our Americano drink which she took off of our bill.
BREAD:
Cornbread, Jalapeo bread, raisin bread. I would of liked it more if it was warmed especially the cornbread.
RESERVATIONS:
We made reservations at 8pm and we were promptly seated.
ATTIRE:
Mixed. Some wore fancy business suits, some showed up in slippers/flip flops.
APPETIZER:
TIGER SHRIMP + ROASTED GARLIC CORN TAMALE Corn-Cilantro Sauce. $16. Fresh tasting popping corn. Tamale was slightly cold. Well presented.
ENTREE:
FIRE ROASTED VEAL CHOP
Horseradish-Maple Glaze
Wild Rice Tamale + Sage Butter
42. (D really enjoyed it whith a side of wild rice tamale)
NEW MEXICAN SPICE RUBBED
PORK TENDERLOIN
Bourbon-Ancho Chile Sauce
Sweet Potato Tamale
+ Crushed Pecan Butter
36. (I'm not sure if I tasted the bourbon but it was definitely flaming)
AMBiENCE:
Colorful. A lot of loyal fans ( I witnessed two parties sitting alone and just purely enjoyed the food).
RUMOR has it that he will be at the restaurant April 2nd or 3rd.
DESSERT:
I was disappointed. They did not have:
Toasted Pecan Vanilla Tart
Carrot-Apricot Sorbet + Ginger-Vanilla Syrup
12.
So we tried the Warm Caramel Pineapple Empanada
Orange-Pineapple Ice Cream
+ Caramel-Tequila Sauce
11. which I thought was so-so. Nothing spectacular.
Would I come back? Probably not.
