  • I hadn't heard of jackfruit prior to dining at Bean. I still don't really know what it is, but it is an incredible meat substitute and the texture is amazing! I ordered the BBQ sandwich and I'm sure the jackfruit could have fooled a carnivore. My side of grilled zucchini was perfectly cooked and seasoned. My husband ordered the vegan reuben and wasn't as impressed with that meat substitute, he really liked my sandwich better. I'm looking forward to trying the jackfruit tacos when I'm in the Charlotte area and I have a larger appetite. Their vegan desserts look tasty too.
