The Thompson Hotel rooftop has one of the most amazing Toronto city view. The rooftop pool is not big but spacious enough for few people to chill in the water at one time during a hot Summer season. There were 15 something poolside lounge chairs for hotel guests to enjoy sun bathing while looking at the breathtaking city view. Bathing towels were provided at the spot.
I and my bf enjoyed much at night for a cozy drink on a Thursday night. The bartender was very friendly and young. He made a very good old fashioned for my bf. Friday night was a total different atmosphere. With all hotel guests (including us) and other people (who paid a minimum spending for getting in), the rooftop lounge and bar was packed. If you prefer a more personal bartending service, come on a week night. Drinks were made good but way too expensive.
We also enjoyed a brunch at the outdoor lounge. We ordered the food from the Diner's menu. The food took a while to deliver because it came all way from the Diner's kitchen on the ground floor. Service was nice but a bit slow on that day since most of the serving staff was new and some were on their first day of work. We ordered mimosa but we were given a mojito instead. Oh well, it was just too strong an alcohol at 1pm lol.
In conclusion, we both had good time. I hope the hotel will arrange better next year for their first week of patio season during the Victoria weekend. We will be back :)
