  • Unfortunately Boomer's cough hasn't gone away so we went back to see Dr Koester (Coster). Once again she was fab. My grumpy old guy doesn't like anyone...he really likes her. New meds. Another antibiotic injection & her personal cell if I need to reach her. She called Saturday & Sunday to check on Boomer & I called her today to discuss an episode we had last night & she put me at ease. It's clear she genuinely cares for her patients & parents. I'm not sure what the future holds for my beloved Boomer boy. Dr Koester wants to do an echo & EKG, tests I can not pay for, to rule in or out heart disease to properly treat him. He is still sick. What I do know is he is in good hands & Dr Koester will do what she can for him given the information she has. I feel like a rotten pet parent for not being able to afford diagnostic tests that are financially reasonable for humans but the same equipment & tests cost so much more for our furry family members. It's just not right. All I can do is love him & do right by him, pray for a miracle & hope it's enough.
