| - Not a fan at all. Came to PV OBGYN a few years ago to receive my Mirena IUD (which was a traumatic experience in itself) and I'm not sure why I didn't leave after they kicked me out of the room I was still in as the insertion was extremely painful. When I went in a couple months later to get it taken out, I was interrogated and given very dirty looks by the employees. But this is nothing in comparison to what came later.
My boyfriend and I are pregnant with our first child and became so in early July 2017. We just yesterday saw a different doctor and switched to her as our experience there brought to light how an experience with your OB should be.
First of all, the lady who draws blood (I'm pretty sure she is the only one) at PV is a nightmare. I don't get blood drawn well and it was always a huge deal. The first visit, I felt her rip the needle out of my arm and then VERY rudely kick me out of "her chair." Less than a minute later I nearly fainted and was guided to a big recliner chair where she came back to scold me for not warming her "of my ways." Mind you I was still dizzy and trying to come to and she got in my face yelling about everything I had done wrong. What a great visit. The next two visits she was just as sassy, told my boyfriend to "move out of her way" when he was holding my hand for support, and was never once nice in the slightest.
I originally had Margaret as my doctor for my first visits which wasn't bad. She always seemed quick and never really involved with us (I was one of the youngest pregnant women there) and after a Pap smear I was light-headed and seeing white and she quickly said a few sentences that I never registered and then left the room. Second visit she asked the same questions she did the first time and didn't even really seem to remember us.
After that I came back and my doctor was suddenly Dr. Newman, the male doctor. He was fine and all we did was listen to the heartbeat, but it upset me they switched my doctor without telling me, and did so from female to male with no warning or question.
Overall, nobody was ever very friendly at all besides one sweet nurse who I saw get bullied by her co-workers twice. All around, not a great place to be. I was never congratulated for my pregnancy because I was young and it was not planned. I later found out they had things written down about me that I didn't know about. That was the last straw.
My last visit, the place was nearly empty and the lady at the Check Out didn't even look up from her computer to look me in the eyes at any point during our conversation. No respect at all. Whether I am 21 or 35, I deserve respect.
I will never be returning to PV OB, nobody should ever be disrespected or mistreated by their doctors, nurses or practitioners. Especially after reading other reviews, I am so glad I've left. My new doctor is sweet, excited, and takes her time with us. Skip OB PV if you really care about your treatment. They are fancy and high-end but really not worth the hassle at all.
