| - The inside/atmosphere-
I was very excited to try this place out because i've been using Starbuzz products for years. Our group walked in and it was rather empty given that it's a new place i'm sure. The music was overly loud which many hookah "lounges" make most of their mistakes. We were greeted then seated. Why are there TV's?? There's such beautiful lighting fixtures that are pretty much defaulted by the two large distracting TV's. I found myself watching PBS channel trying to sell 50's music boxset while the other was playing COPS.
The menu/hookah-
Upon looking at the menu we noticed that they charge an extra round of hookah if there are more than two people. One round of hookah costs $20 so they were going to charge us $40 for two hookahs. We're not going to pay that much to smoke that much. We called the manager over and she explained to us that it's their policy because people tend to stay more than they should for long periods of time. It should not matter how long I stay there because I plan on spending money in this place, I am a paying customer. The manager made an exception and charged us for one hookah. Our waitress didn't have any knowledge of most of the shisha flavors we questioned. She had to keep on "Checking."
The food-
The food takes the majority of stars from this one. I was quite hungry and the descriptions of the food sounded good, so we ordered a couple of their caprese sandwiches with garlic parmesan fries and a pizza with tomato and basil. The pizza was no larger than the size of your hand and it had absolutely no flavor. It reminded me of those Totino's pizzas I used to eat as a kid that you get in the freezer isle. I couldn't believe how absolutely disgusting it was. It was doughy and spongy. My caprese sandwich tasted awful, stale, and what I noticed was that the bread had been previously frozen. I know this because it tasted somewhat hard to the bite and had that white-like fiber appearance within the dough and sort of crumbles apart. The fries were half-way cooked, cold, and looked like they just sprinkled garlic on top. I'm very positive they're fries that come in previously frozen. This was most likely some of the worst food I had ever tasted in a business, hookah place or not.
This place does not serve alcohol. I asked the manager why that is and she explained that, "We didn't want to have any animosity with the liquor store next door and people are too much of a liability." I don't know about you but I like to have a drink or two while i'm relaxing smoking hookah. Overall, the only aspect of this place that I liked was the hookah itself. Above everything else, this was the only thing. It is not worth myself going back for the hookah alone. I really wanted to like this place a lot but given the severe lack of these qualities, I will not be returning.
