Isolated. Expensive. Brutal. The rock gym is the perfect place to unwind after a hard day at the office or on a Saturday afternoon when you'd like to see exactly what your body is made for. The staff are chilly but they are irrelevant to the experience of clawing and gouging your way up the forbidding rock walls. Once you top out your first time on the bouldering wall and peer out over the enormous gym, you'll understand the feeling. Pure adrenaline. The walls change frequently so don't get used to any problems--they have a great mixture of amateur routes and mind (and finger) shatteringly difficult ones as well. There's no food. There are couches to sit on between climbs and they are ragged and dusty, but very comfortable. There is a $50 a month membership fee and you can only bring each new guest once for free, but it is worth it. This is a hard, lovable, incredible sanctuary.
