  • I'd give this place 5 stars if it wasn't so damn stinky!!!!!!! I like the sweet stench of a good cigar, but not of a cigarette, and (in a Forrest Gump voice) this place smells like cigarette, which is overwhelming until somehow, someway, you become one with the odor and it all of a sudden goes away........and you don't smell it anymore. Ahhhhhhhhh, not so fresh air!!!!! Anyway, besides that, I can't complain about this place not even a little bit, not even at all. From what we were told by the bartender, I can't remember his name, this was at one time, and perhaps still is, the "to go" spot for Las Vegas celebrities. It's a tiki bar, done up by some of the most world famous tiki bar designers and totem makers of yesteryear (like way back in the 50's) and even today. Their souvenir glasses are made by local artists, which I think is cool. Some people might think the décor is cheesy, but I don't think so. It's charming in my opinion. Granted, we went in the night time, and inside it's pretty dark, but they have puffer fish lights in there for Pete's sake! Moving on to the booze, the thing I like about this place is that all the girly rum drinks are $9, and they are silent, creeping ASS KICKERS. They are on skull system, with one skull being the lowest and 5 being the highest, in terms of how potent they are. For the record, most of the drinks are 3 to 5 skulls, but you'd never know because all the coconut rum and other sweet additions mask the powerful alcoholic punch that sucker punches you when you finally get up to go to the restroom. The standouts for us the night we went were the: 1) KAHIKI KAI (3 skulls)- "creamy delight of island freshness featuring coconut rum, banana liqueur and pineapple juice." 2) FINK BOMB (5 skulls)- "mellow blend of coconut rum, 160 proof rum, melon liqueur and pineapple juice" (3) WILD WATUSI (5 skulls)- "a savage cascade of rum, mango, lime and orange, topped with a 160 proof rum float." It was already decided that the next time we are in town, we are going to hit this place up just because it is divey and the drinks are yummy. I forgot to mention that they have a flat screen behind the bar, and they play like old surfer movies and footage of pretty much naked hula dancers in black and white, and there's like surf music being played too. This is definitely a place to add on your "to do" list of things to do in Vegas, just to say that you did it. The smoke smell might make you regret it it, but the stiff drinks will make you forget it!!!!
