I had to take my 3 year old Dachshund in on Sunday after noticing that she would whine when being picked up and pretty much refused the walk. As it turns out, she had gotten into a scuffle with my mom's larger dog the night before while I was away from home.
It was a Sunday morning, so my options were rather limited as far as vet offices go. Phoenix Veterinary was nothing but helpful as soon as I arrived. They let me know there was a prior emergency that was taking longer than anticipated and apologized for the delay. Once I was in the room, the vet was able to determine that she had a bruised shoulder, watched her walk around a little bit before recommending a 3-day dosage of pain medication as she recovered. While paying for the medication, the tech at the front gave me several helpful recommendations for local vets I could use as my primary vet--both corporate and private--in case she did continued to limp after the medication was gone and for any future needs.
While I hope I never have to take one of my dogs to the emergency vet again, I will gladly take either of them to this location so long as I am still in the area.
