I LOVED THIS PLACE!!
Now there was nothing extra special about this place EXCEPT for the front desk staff. Which, as I discovered, makes a world of difference in ones hotel experience.
I was greeted by a bright, lovely woman named Dee Dee and a more accomodating person I have never met. She was so helpful it would have been annoying if it were not for the fact that she was so genuine and charismatic. She had me at hello.
I mentioned her to the morning staff that was there when I checked out (and they were wonderful too) and they started giggling the moment I mentioned her name. "Yeah, she's like that even when she ain't at work" they beamed.
The hotel was clean and very accesible to both freeways and the best of downtown. The breakfast they had (The Pantry) was reasonably priced and quite filling. The rooms were cozy and they had free Internet access (always a plus). Their 24 hour business center was useful and convenient.
The sushi place across the street (Ginza House) was a definite treat for those who love sushi. As I sit in the lobby typing this I find myself not wanting to leave. I've never experienced that feeling in any hotel except for a Four Seasons hotel, in which case I was merely trying to squeeze my moneys worth out of the experience. In this case, however, I find myself feeling like it was money well spent.
Comfort is a commodity and gracious hospitality a blessing.
I'll be back and if Miss Dee Dee ain't there, I'm sure her spirit will be present!
