| - I bought tickets online about a month before the event. I was really excited for this event and planned an afternoon date with my husband. Admission for the two of us, plus food only tickets ended up being like $75 total. A little steep I thought, but I thought whatever, it's Scottsdale.
Side note: Good thing I noticed the ticket for admission was different than the tickets for food or drinks. Many people didn't notice and kinda got screwed in the entry line.
Pro: I got a text confirmation with a link to my tickets. It was easy to book online. Wish I had gotten an early bird discount for buying so far in advance.
Con: Line was really long when we arrived. I had seen posts on the facebook page about people waiting 45 mins - 1 hour to get in so I knew we were in for a wait.
Pro: We weren't drinking, so our entrance line was shorter.
Con: They didn't even scan my admission tickets. Entry was disorganized.
We got in after about 30 mins in line, and found it very difficult to navigate the booths. Again, we weren't drinking so we didn't really care about the beer booths. But they were interspersed between the mac and cheese booths, so the lines comingled causing confusing lines everywhere.
Con: hangry and slightly buzzed folks angry about waiting.
Pro: mac & cheese was delicious, and we got our fill of the tastiness.
Con: apparently there were 30 different mac and cheeses, but so many booths were out of it or had outrageously long lines. We ended up trying 6 different kinds.
Pro: so many people got annoyed and left that people were giving away their food and drink tickets. Score!
Con: really hot day, not much escape from the sun either. I brought an umbrella but would have poked out a few eyes had I used it.
Con: difficult to see what kind of mac and cheese was being served. I didn't want spicy, yet I waited 10-15 mins in line to get to the front and realize "oh, this mac and cheese has chilies and jalepenos. No thanks."
Con: trash everywhere.
Overall, would not go again. Not worth what I paid. Was nice to try something different but this festival needs better organization and better operations (and obviously that would need to be communicated somehow) before I'd consider going again.
