  • Dined-in for dinner this past Saturday (1 week ago) with my wife after reading great reviews. Small place, 5-6 tables I think, but very pleasant. A few take-out orders were picked-up while we were there. There were two other dine-in parties at the time. Great service from the sole waiter. Pretty funny how one guy insisted that he wanted "10 stars" of spiciness with his dish, then of course his head was being blown off. The waiter & the kitchen were very accomodating. The waiter was very patient, bringing his dish back two times with lesser levels of heat. Obviously, this created waste for the restaurant, but they could not have been nicer about it. In fact, everyone in the restaurant was getting a laugh from the situation. We started by splitting an appetizer of a pair of spring rolls (one each). They were perfect: thin, transluscent rice wrapper, really fresh vegetables inside, and neatly wrapped with a whole fresh basil leaf showing through the outer layer. Some kind of clear sauce drizzled on top. Delicious. Next, we each had a not-too-big bowl of Tom Ka Gai (sorry if I misspelled). Killer good. Finally, my wife had the Pad Thai, and it was very good. Seems to me it was up to par, but maybe not better than other good Pad Thai I've had. (Definitely not disappointing.) I had some kind of chicken dish with "five nuts". The five are peanuts, cashews, pine nuts, macadamia nuts and chestnuts. Really good. I decided to have it over the complimentary white rice. A good move. What really struck me was how much I enjoyed the chestnuts. The way they were cooked, they had smooth, creamy centers. Surprised me how much I liked them, and the entire dish was what you often hope for when you eat out: unusual but delicious. The entire meal was very reasonable. $30-35. I would certainly go here again. The 4 to 5 star ratings are justified. I only rate it conservatively with 4 stars because I have not been to a lot of Thai restaurants in the last 5 years. But I'm coming here again. As you might suspect, no alcohol served here, and I don't know if you can BYO.
