| - As I was leaving Fashion Square yesterday, my boyfriend ended up receiving a sample as a reflex and the next thing I knew I was having a sales clerk apply makeup on one half of my face. I really should have walked away, because I've been stopped by them before but the sales clerk was 10X better than this woman I dealt with yesterday.
First off, I was already wearing a full face of makeup, so I was hoping she would only apply the smallest amount on my face to show the product. No. She continuously applied ridiculous amounts of powder foundation, bronzer, blush and highlight on my face. And not to mention the foundation was two times darker than my actual skin tone. And when she asked me what foundation brand I use I said Too Faced, which is fairly well known. To which she said she didn't know of it, and being a makeup hoarder and self proclaimed expert on higher end makeup I was astounded. Someone who was trying to sell me $70 for one compact of highlight didn't know of a brand such as that. And was also applying this makeup and probably didn't know much of other higher brands that they claimed to be "similar" to.
By the time the experience was over I looked in the mirror and wasn't all too thrilled. I asked the prices and said no, because their asking prices were just ridiculous. And when she was getting me her business card she started putting the makeup in a bag like I was trying to buy it. Which my boyfriend had to step in and said we're not looking to buy and we left.
I had to leave Fashion Square and go home to reapply half a face of makeup that I didn't even want on there in the first place. I left riddled with anxiety because I was feeling so pressured into buying something. I understand people have to make their living somehow, but don't do it in this manner. Seriously never buy from this brand, it looks like it's all private labeled and I doubt the makeup is anywhere near the actual price tag.
