| - YAYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Growing up I played with Barbie dolls. I have Barbie, Skipper, Kelly, Whitney (Stacie's friend), Ken, and Tommy. And also the kitchen, bathroom, pet shop, grocery store, and even a laundry room.
This Barbie Expo (the "Barbie Museum") is nothing like what I knew.
It's history and fashion of this world-famous icon. Barbie Expo is not the same doll I played with!
Barbie of many different cultures, of celebrities and movies, in lots of wedding gowns. Barbie by high-end designers. Barbie in the most beautiful fabric I've ever seen.
Do you know these Barbies? Princess of South Africa. Canadian Barbie. Goddess of Wisdom. Barbie of the Tango dance. Zombie bride Barbie. Thanksgiving Barbie. Diane von Furstenberg Barbie!!!
Johnny Depp. He is a beautiful Barbie.
There are two Barbie dolls of Peru and I love them both.
Can you believe the work they put into making the hair, the shoes, and the fabric?
Seriously well done!!! I can't believe this is free! You can see every doll clearly. The display is bright. The walking space is wide. People love to crowd around but even so it wasn't annoying to navigate. I took a guy here because we finished class together. After maybe 800 Barbie dolls, he became quite tired. Still he finished walking through the entire expo with me. This means although the expo is huge with 1000+ dolls, it is small enough that even a guy would say, "Alright fine, let's finish this at your pace."
Go check it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
UPDATE: you know what would be even better???
- if each doll has her birth date or year
- to see the original hand-drawn designs and concepts
Well if this happens, the expo probably wouldn't be free!
