| - We're driving in the car, and my husband and father-in-law are in the middle of a conversation, but as we are approaching a local Tim Horton's, I see a sign I recognize from my days in Traverse City, Michigan.
"Huh," I think. "That sign looks a hell of a lot like Cold Stone Creamery." I sigh. "If only."
And as we drive by it's like my whole world slows. I can hear my heart beat increase and blood rushing in my ears. I blink because I must be dreaming. I say, "What?!" loudly but it comes out sluggish and in slow motion. "Nnnerrrwwwwwhhuuuuaaaattt?!!!"
And then everything returns to normal, my father-in-law slams on his breaks in a panic, and somewhere I realize I've almost just killed us, but I can't get over the fact that I'm staring at a Cold Stone Creamery sign. I point it out to my husband, who is also surprised, and we pull inside.
We waited in line for about fifteen minutes, maybe twenty, but it had only been open a week, and it was so delicious and worth it. Apparently Tim Horton's will now be joined with Coldstone and it's set to span across all of Canada. How cool is that?
For those of you not familiar with Cold Stone, or unfamiliar with my reviews, I will share a bit of my Traverse City location review so you can see why I love it so much.
The signature creations are what's great about Cold Stone. You can always make your own, but they also offer favorite ice creams and really make them shine by adding complimentary ingredients such as crushed Oreos, or graham crackers, etc. This is not just your sprinkles and cone shoppe, oh no.
For example, the "Cheesecake Fantasy" is their Cheesecake Ice Cream, fresh strawberries and blueberries and a graham cracker pie crust. "That's How I Roll" is Cake Batter Ice Cream, yellow cake bits, cinnamon, and pecans. "Peanut Butter Cup Perfection" is chocolate ice cream, real peanut butter, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, and fudge. Look at the photos, you will be unable to control yourself. Now, seriously, do you need any more examples? I didn't think so. Now wipe the drool off your keyboard and head on over.
