 | - I'm going to give this 4 stars, but it's more like 3.75. The Bank and Baron has a lot of great things going for it, first of all. It's super swanky, sitting right in the heart of downtown Calgary, with an updated interior that's kept all of its old school charm. B&B used to be a bank way back in the day, and you can still see remnants of the old vaults when you head downstairs to use the bathrooms. I went out on a Saturday night with a few friends, and all in all we had a great time, but I found the service to be sooo slow- which was not ideal when we were wanting another drink or more water or to order our food or to pay for our bill, etc. The service was also really disorganized, as we had a few different people coming to the table sporadically, which ended up being less efficient, and more chaotic. So that definitely dampened the fun vibes that we were looking for on a Saturday night. What made up for it were the delicious drinks and the delicious food. I had the traditional Caesar which was really tasty and came with a yummy skewer that included a piece of pepperoni sausage, a piece of cheese, an olive and a hot pepper. For dinner I had the steak sandwich that came with beer-battered fries. I found the sandwich to be a little on the small side, but the flavour was on point and the steak was cooked to absolute perfection. The fries were really good as well. Overall, I think the Bank and Baron had enough good things to get me back, or at least to give it a second chance to see if we could get some better service.
