  • Completely dishonest. Do not go here. My orthodontist recommended I see a dentist because I was having inflamed gums and it was affecting my teeth adjusting with my braces. My assumption was that I just needed a good cleaning as I had not had one in over a year. I have always had great oral health so I was not really concerned. So, I bought a groupon for Modern Smiles Family Dentistry so I could get a quick cleaning and checkup. Upon arrival I was greeted by the staff and I could already tell something was off. All of the staff were blonde females in their late twenties early thirties and fairly attractive. The technician told me that they were going to do things differently, I had X-rays first and then I would see the dentist. I get X-rays and wait about 20 minutes afterwards to then be greeted by what I can only describe as a man that smelled of cigarettes (odd for a dentist to be a smoker) and too much cologne. He was dressed like he just left the club, shirt unbuttoned to expose his chest and an expensive gold chain. I also noticed he wasn't wearing a wedding band. He then went on to explain how I had what seemed to be gum disease and that it would cost me around $1000 for initial treatment. I was extremely upset. How could I have let my teeth go this badly? I then told them that I had insurance and they seemed highly irritated that I had not mentioned this before. It brought the cost to me down to $400. They wanted to schedule schedule me for the treatment but I told them I would get back to them. I called my orthodontist and they gave me the number to a dentist they recommended. Three weeks later I have my appointment. I didn't even mention my experience at Modern Smiles Family Dentistry. They took X-rays, gave me a deep cleaning and the dentist told me my teeth and gums were in great shape and I just had a lot of tartar buildup in my gums from my braces shifting. Modern Smiles Family Dentistry tried to take me for a run. Judging by reviews I'm not alone. I started to realize that this guy opened a new practice and probably recently got divorced, lost his other practice in the divorce and hired a staff of good looking women and is a total scam artist. That's just my conclusion. Modern Smiles Family Dentistry cannot be trusted.
