  • Just had my A/c compressor replaced by Platinum, and had them schedule a pest control company. I bought the place in Dec 2014, knowing the air conditioner was aging. In March, it was making a loud noise, with no cool air. Called Platinum, they sent a guy out to check it out. I got an estimate and a diagnosis within 4 days, with two reminder calls to them that I still didn't have Ac. They said they were having trouble tracking down the part. Then they said it would be $450 for the environmental recovery fee. I balked. I waited a few weeks, but I need a cool house with these hot flashes, brick walls, and too many mutts putting out hot gas. So, I bit the bullet, paid the fee, and the AC is blowing cold. Pest control seemed a little complex. When it came time to pay the bill, they said I had a balance, I never used that company before. I said I was only supposed to pay $60.00 for service call, so they didn't charge me and said they would let it go through the warranty. So far seems like a good company.
