Disappointing service from the finance department. I had financing lined up through my out of town credit union. When I purchased the pre-owned car Sunday they told me I could fill out their in-house installment agreement (by the time I had waited long enough to get to signing I was ready to sign anything to get out of there with the knowledge that my credit union contract would be better and replace the dealer's; needless to say they tacked on over $5k in extras, but I wasn't that concerned with those details at that time) and after I talked to my credit union Monday they would send a revised purchase agreement and redo the financing through my preferred lender.
Monday I sorted out the details with my credit union and left a message with the finance manager I dealt with at AutoNation. Did not receive a return call. Stopped at dealership Tuesday to get the revised contract to send to my credit union. Finance manager I dealt with (Mariya) was not in and for some reason the other finance managers could not look up my file and help me. Why writing up a clean purchase agreement would be a challenge for someone else is still a mystery to me. Maybe they're not all as competent at ripping off customers as Mariya. So when Mariya finally called me Tuesday, an hour later than I was told to expect her call, and tried to reduce the ridiculous prices she had originally given me on the back end products, I told her I was not interested and that I wanted to finance through my credit union. She asked that I text her the contact info for my lending agent, which I did. She said she would copy me when she sent the cleaned up purchase contract to my credit union. She never sent it. She did not call back. And she was unresponsive to my lending agent's attempts to contact her.
I returned the car after work Tuesday (hey, at least they made good on their 5-day/250 mile money back guarantee!). I'm convinced that they were simply trying to slow play me until the 5 day window expired or I surpassed the 250 miles. I'm sure there was a huge margin built into the rip off back end BS I was sold under false pretenses (i.e. "We'll work with your credit union").
Back in the market for another car. Won't be visiting AutoNation Chevrolet Superstition Springs again. Lesson learned. That's one heck of a shady finance department. And the general manager, Jimmy, didn't care when I explained the way Mariya lied to me.
GM should be ashamed to partner with a dealership as dishonest as this.
UPDATE: After stating in my original review that the General Manager didn't care when I explained my issue, they responded to this review that I should try calling the GM. I'm assuming they only have one GM. Why would he suddenly care now? If customer experience was important, he would have addressed my issue the evening I saw him.
