| - On the weekend, it was sweltering in Toronto. So of course, once seeing Ezra's pound, we decided that an iced latte would be perfect. I have been by their location on Dundas west, but i was unfamiliar with this location. The decor is really nice on the inside, very minimal. We ordered an ice latte, i was asked if i wanted sweetener, and i said yes. I then asked if it was flavoured, and he was like "oh No" (like how dare you ask, we would never sweeten a coffee. He then told me that it would cost $5.35, i was gobsmacked, but i do not mind paying, if it is worth it. Now i have had coffee all over the states, in the most trendy locales, and i have yet to pay more than 5 dollars. Now most boutique coffee bars include simple syrup at no charge, c'mon, it is simply sugar and water. I find it awful that they charge so much, they should just throw in the sweetener. The iced lattes came and they werent stirred so they looked really pretty, you could see the contrast in colours. I do appreciate that they take the effort and use coffee cubes, instead of simply using ice. I find it contradicting that they use coffee cubes instead of ice, but then charge for simple syrup. Upon tasting mine, it was very bitter, it didn't taste the slightest bit sweetened.
Overall i was really looking forward to coming, and i was disappointed with the service and product.
