Well I can say that I truly got my fill at Fran's! A group of my fellow Yelp ladies and I came on a Monday evening during wine and tapas week and I wasn't sure what to expect portion-wise. When it comes to these promotional foodie weeks, I know a lot of restaurants like to tweak their normal offerings and portions. However, Fran's fully delivered on providing ample portions.
We arrived to a mostly empty restaurant, with only the front of the house being occupied. It's a deceptively big restaurant with two larger dining sections in the back. Big plus? No need to worry about parking because they share a large parking lot with the other stores in the shopping center.
I was quite tempted by a number of things on their wine & tapas week menu and made a last minute decision to go with the fried green tomatoes and bacon-wrapped sweet potato tots. I started off my meal with a petite syrah but was a little disappointed that it wasn't a tad colder.
Everyone placed their orders and then it felt like we waited for quite a while for the food to come out. Once it did, the plates came out in a staggered fashion. I'd read previous reviews and mostly everyone mentions the bacon wrapped tots. I was very pleased with them - sweet and easily poppable. They would be so good on top of a salad. Yup, a salad.
The fried green tomatoes were good but a little more sweet than I was expecting. I can't say that I would order those again. Since flatbreads were on special that night (they're $10 every Monday), I placed an order for the fig and goat cheese flat bread to-go. It is HUGE and I must say, it was even better warmed up the next day.
After months of having this place bookmarked, I'm so glad that I can report back on Fran's providing a delicious dining experience. I look forward to going back!
