The first thing struck me about Shiloh Grill was the menu. Not the options or the size of the menu but the names. They were creative thought out and made me chuckle. If you're on a first date, they would be great ice breaker or way to break the silence.
Service at Shiloh Grill was above average as well. You can tell they care about your dining experience. A great example was one of the servers holding the door open for my friend with a torn ACL when we were leaving. They had our money and could have cared less but went the extra mile which would make me come back.
You can get in & out of Shiloh Grill quickly if you want. Our food & drink orders were promptly taken and brought out to us. There weren't long waits and the restaurant was moderately full.
The food at Shiloh Grill is very good. It's not the greatest food I have ever had, but I would not hesitate to come back. The presentation could use some work. It was a clean plate but I'd like to see it more artfully presented. I would like to see a larger beer list. There was really only one beer to represent each style of brewing you could get.
The chili is spicy, maybe to point of lacking a lot of flavor, but thats what I crave. Too top it off, it was free when checking in. Score! Next time, I'd like to try the calamari as it sounded amazing. The fish tacos were slightly above average. It's nowhere as good as something you'd get in San Diego, but pretty damn good for Pittsburgh.
The Cookies & Cream desert was not original. I actually had the same this in Jackson Hole this past week, but I loved the way it was described. I also like the whipped cream added and little bit of chocolate drizzle. That was a good touch!
All in all, I would recommend Shiloh Grill to someone looking for a quick but solid meal on Mount Washington. It is the best dining experience I've had on Shiloh Street.
