| - This, my friends, was a delicious surprise in a nondescript strip mall just north of Bethany Home on the east side (I like to know where I'my looking for a new place.) Just goes to show, you really cannot judge a restaurant from its exterior. Went there today with a friend and almost thoroughly enjoyed every Mexican morsel. The House salad was chock full of fresh lettuces, cabbage, herbs, carrots, corn nuts, dried peas, cheese, and eggs, finished with a ranch-style dressing. I could have eaten the entire salad, not wholly certain if that was a function of day after carb-laden Thanksgiving, fresh off a long hike, or it really hit the right notes. Followed this with the veggie chilaquiles and the sauce was a brothy, spicy symphony of flavor. Paired with crispy tortillas and perfectly cooked eggs and I knew I would be back. Solid five stars.
Not content to leave well enough alone, we ordered the coconut pudding topped with a generous serving of shaved chocolate and the lime tart. I like some contrast of textures in my food and these were too much creamy softness for my taste. Next time, we'll explore more of the appetizers and entrees. But we will be back. Way to go Otro!
